Just got back from fueling up the car at Wawa. Took off my coat and realized I didn't even wear a shirt. Oh well, at least I was wearing pants.

And Schmoo's latest school infraction is likely to delight some of you and scandalize others: apparently yesterday he was "shaking his undressed bottom" at a friend in the bathroom. Sigh.

I'm trying to decide if my most embarrassing part of today was when I accidentally hit a missionary in an inappropriate place during church (he was walking behind our pew just as I reached back for a big stretch) or when I interrupted the dinner prayer by throwing the door open and yelling "HOT MEAT!!!" (Because I was carrying in a tray of hamburgers from the grill.)

NYC Birthday Trip, 2013

So I pretty much had the best birthday gift ever this year from my dear husband.  I've been wanting and wanting and wanting to get up to NYC (just 2 hours away!!!) but it always seemed impossible to arrange for an all day sitter and figuring out where we were going and what we wanted to do, etc. This year I told him that my birthday wish was to go to the Manhattan Temple, see a show and see some NYC :)  We did it!  And it was amazing!  Can't wait to do it again!!!!

We went to see Mamma Mia.  IT WAS SO FUN!  I've seen lots of Broadway touring productions, but this was my first on actual *Broadway*!

His amazing Reuben at the Carnegie Deli.  Oh my gosh!  It was sooooo good! And I would have taken a picture of the cheesecake (best cheesecake I've had in my whole entire life!) but I didn't want to torture myself by having to see it all the time :)

Valentine's 2013

So I got pretty much the biggest box of chocolate ever this Valentine's Day.  Schmoo gave me a giant card to match and wrote, "Seriously, I think that's big enough.  If you don't, I don't know what is."

Christmas 2012

Yeah, I realize that most every photo in all these posts are all about the Schmoo.  That's life with a 6 year old :)  Here is Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  He was a super happy camper.  It was the year of the Spy Net Goggles and his own Kindle Fire. 

middle school

One student puked in class today. Another student gave me a scratch off lotto ticket for Christmas. Another student told me I was ruining his life. Just another day in middle school :)

Puzzle

Schmoo got some lovely Christmas presents from some dear friends of ours and he was sooo proud of himself for doing this 3D puzzle all on his own :)

Storybook Land, Christmas 2012

While mommy was having a root canal, Schmoo and Daddy had a lovely visit to Storybook Land to see Santa and ride the rides. 

Teeth

We've been losing teeth aplenty around here.  He is a snaggle toothed, crazy grinned, spaced out, extra toothed mess. I see many a future appt in orthodontia land.

Winter 2012-2013

This has been a ridiculous winter.  Last year I complained that we had NO snow.  This year we've had snow about 10 times, literally, but every single time it has been a dusting to about an inch.  SO ANNOYING!  It's enough to muck everything up, but not enough for a late start to the school day or a snow day or nothing.  Just had to have some reason to show this cute pic of my guys in the hats they've worn constantly this year... :)

Thanksgiving 2012

We went out to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Cousin Mario's in Mays Landing this Thanksgiving, and still don't understand my child. He LOVED the butternut squash soup, ate all of his and my green beans and kept asking for bites out of Ben's seafood pasta...."What's in that shell? Can I try it? Can I have another bite of the scallops...mussels...clams....shrimp?" But when I ask him if he wants to try a roll, (A ROLL!!!) "NO THANK YOU! THAT'S GROSS!"

Angry Birds dominate the year

2012 was an Angry Birds year.  Every app.  Every Shirt and PJs.  Birthday theme plus special cupcakes.  And yes, Halloween, too. 

Best Pizza EVER

So when we first moved here I was sad to see that the taquerias that were on every corner in New Mexico were replaced by Pizzerias.  We tried several places but I thought most were "meh".  Well, we finally found THE place.  Maurizios has the best pizza.  They have everything from plain slices to tortellini pizza.  Here is a slice on a full sized (dinner sized) paper plate.  Not only is it gigantic, but it is AMAZING!
